Melvin Leroy Coe Jr.

Melvin Leroy Coe Jr. (Junior) the son of Melvin L and Ruby A (Jessen) Coe, was born on April 10, 1962 in Audubon, Iowa, and died at Caring Acres Nursing and Rehab in Anita, Iowa, on March 9, 2024 at the age of 61.

Junior attended school at Job Corps in Denison, Iowa. Where he received his mechanics certification. Junior loved being a mechanic! But then later in life he was diagnosed with rheumatory arthritis at and early age and had to retire.

On September 10, 1982 his daughter Rachel Bennett was born. Rachel currently resides in North Carolina with two children (Sophia and Elowyn Grace).

Melvin then got married when his love (Kelly Peel) and him parted ways in 1993.

Melvin found his way back to his love in 1999 and spent 32 years with Kelly Peel. Kelly had three children that Junior helped raise Eric, Shawn, and Michael. Junior was currently retired living with Kelly in Atlantic, Iowa until a month before passing.

Melvin loved collecting Model T cars or any antique cars in general! He also loved going to car shows and/or swap meets! Junior LOVED being outdoors!!

Melvin loved his family/friends and did the best to help out. Junior also enjoyed raising some nephews and nieces during his life.

Survivors includes his love Kelly Peel of Atlantic, IA. CHILDREN.....

Rachel Bennett Ashville, NC, Eric (Dana) Chenlo of NE, Shawn (Daniel) Daggett of Guthrie Center, IA, Michael (Heather) Peel of Atlantic, IA and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Melvin Coe and Ruby Crawley, his brothers Kenneth and Randy Coe and step brothers Bob Coe and Bobbie Crawley, sister in law Connie Coe, brother in laws Dennis Peel, Bob Bacon, Raymond Bacon, and Gary Devilbliss. Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces, and Nephews.

Celebration of life will be determined on a later date.
